Dr. Bosilevac has been practicing Veterinary Medicine since 1991 and is the owner of Best Care Pet Hospital. He enjoys all facets of Veterinary Medicine and is our primary provider of care for exotic and avian pets. He enjoys spending his time with his family and golfing.
Dr. Kooima is originally from southwest North Dakota and grew up in the veterinary field. She attended North Dakota State Univeristy for her undergraduate education and graduated from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. After graduation she worked in Tucson, AZ for 7 years then returned to the Midwest in 2010. She joined the Best Care team in May 2010. Her professional interests include ultrasound, dermatology, soft-tissue surgery and client education and preventative medicine.
Her family includes her husband, 2 children, and her 2 Boston Terriers, Cypress and Monroe.
Graduate of North Dakota State University and received DVM from Iowa State University.
Dr. Emily Gray is originally from Omaha and attended the Omaha Zoo Academy in high school. She is a graduate of the 2+2 veterinary program at UNL and Iowa State University. She shares her home with Cora, a tabby, and Flynn, a beagle, but aspires to have a farm one day with all sorts of critters. Her practice of veterinary medicine includes all manner of pets including companion, exotic and 4H. She especially loves surgery. Dr. Gray joined our team in June 2021.
Dr. Rifer is a 2016 graduate of the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science as well as a 2021 graduate of the University of Nebraska – Lincoln/Iowa State University Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine. She is originally from a little town in Northeast Nebraska called Verdigre. She loves learning, interacting with others, solving problems, and she has a strong sense of compassion. Dr. Rifer enjoys being able to serve her community as a veterinarian through the promotion of both public and animal health, and especially through the enhancement of the human-animal bond between her clients and patients. Additionally, she is currently a Fear-Free Level 3 Certified Veterinary Professional, a Fear-Free Avian Certified Veterinary Professional, and has completed the Human-Animal Bond Certification Program by the NAVC and the HABRI. Dr. Rifer is a self-proclaimed “Crazy Cocker Spaniel Mom,” and currently has three rescued Cockers of her own: Violet, Sage, and Comet. She also shares her life with her significant other, Zack, three ferrets (Oliver, Penelope, and Nash) as well as two bunnies (Piccolo and Zucchini). Just as all her pets are rescued, Dr. Rifer is an animal rescue advocate, and she enjoys helping pets of all species along their journey by fostering them until they find their forever homes.
